This poster translates “Grieve: Goddess Sings for the Sons of America” into a bold, symbolic visual. The American flag is distorted and bleeding to reflect themes of loss and fear, while the structured typography guides the viewer through the poem. The child’s face adds a layer of innocence, contrasting with the heaviness of the subject.

Text Placement

The idea for the dripping flag came from wanting to take a familiar symbol and make it feel unsettling and emotional. I used the American flag as a base, then added the dripping effect to represent loss, violence, and the deeper meaning behind the poem—shifting it from something proud into something heavier and more complex.
